Gamescom 2017: Relive the Hype
Hype Energy takes a look at what went down at Gamescom 2017
Welcome to Cologne, Germany, where just under one thousand exhibitors and a record breaking 350,000 gaming Romeos came to find their pixellated Juliet. And for those who weren't lucky enough to discover virtual love with any of 2017’s Summer releases, they found serenity, comfort and peace in the Creative Labs stand with the Hype Energy team - interrupted occasionally by chanting, cheering and just plain screaming whenever the Hype Girls took to the stage with our premium energy drinks line-up. Sorry about that.<>
It’s hard not to enjoy Gamescom, but when we took to the stage this year, the gaming community reminded us exactly why we love gaming. The fans. And we want to thank each and every one of you who came to see us.
Let’s take a look at what Hype Energy got up to at one of the biggest events on the calendar.
Welcome to Creative Labs
We’d love to give a shout out to Creative Labs for inviting us to their stand, we had a great time and we loved every moment of it. However, this year we decided to go one step further… Hype Energy teamed up with Creative Labs for an epic giveaway to truly take your set-up to the next level.Sound blasterX Katana Sound Bar

Aurora Reactive Lighting System
We brought our InstaFrame along to Hall 2 and all of our fans who came to see us enjoyed a picture with the Hype Girls, shared their photos on Instagram using #GamescomHype and were entered into the competition with the chance to win an incredible sound system to truly annoy your neighbours. Keep an eye out on our social media channels and on our website to see if you're our lucky winner! The good, the bad & the cosplay
Who doesn't love dressing up? Gamers aren’t usually known for their fashion expertise but they certainly put that to the test at Gamescom this year. We loved all of the amazing costumes we saw from across the virtual gaming world - and even the real one. So, to celebrate that work you put into your costumes, Hype Energy decided to hold a Cosplay contest on Twitter and Instagram to share the most original, impressive and jaw-dropping costumes we saw at Gamescom this year… Check out some of our favourites below - can you name them all?Epsilon eSports
We were thrilled to be joined by the Hype Energy sponsored Epsilon eSports team on stage this year, as Epsilon Sneaky gave us a demonstration of the up-and-coming FIFA 18, and showed exactly why he’s worth the Hype. Epsilon came to Germany off the back of a fantastic 9th place finish at the Call of Duty: World Championships in Florida earlier this month as well as four wins so far in 2017, most recently in Sheffield, UK. Creative Labs put on a fantastic show at Gamescom, with interactive areas for fans and the Epsilon eSports FIFA and Rocket League teams to enjoy some of 2017’s new releases.Feel The hype
This year, Hype Energy brought its full premium range of energy drinks to refuel and quench the thirst of jet-lagged and exhausted gamers who couldn't get enough of that familiar, refreshing Hype taste. What’s more, we even sampled two new and exciting products with our fans throughout the event, and we took home lots of positive feedback with so many of you helping out. Thanks to everyone who joined in!It’s Lights out & away we go… F1 2017 Is here
The highly anticipated release of F1 2017 has finally cometh, and our excitement here at Hype Energy exploded like the cork from a vintage wine. This year at Gamescom, we got to see the game’s official release as fans lined up to experience what it’s like to really immerse yourself in the world of Formula 1. Fast, apparently. And a little pink…Hype Energy’s young Formula 4 driver earns a podium finish at the Grand Prix de Pau
Kami Laliberté, the young Montréal-born driver sponsored by Hype Energy has been racing his first season in the 2016 Formula 4 Championships. After a challenging start of the season, the young driver keeps progressing and is confidently going up the ranks.
Last weekend during the street course of the Grand Prix de Pau, Kami qualified 9th on Friday. He managed to earn 6th place in the morning and a podium finish in the afternoon event. During the weekend Kami Laliberté managed to pull off some spectacular overtakes at the “Du Pont Oscar” corner, one of the most challenging corners for this type of manoeuvres. Being a risk-taker really payed off, and he concluded this weekend’s race on a positive note.
“I had again a very good start and I have been able to overtake again. It was great to fully enjoy this very special circuit”, said the driver, happy and proud to climb on a podium for the first time this season. “These results are encouraging, it’s the kind of boost needed for the upcoming races in German Formula 4 that are going to be my main focus from now.’’
We are very pleased with Kami’s performance and we hope that he will keep going strong until the end of this 2016 season. Make sure to follow us on Twitter for exclusive content and all of Kami’s upcoming results for the ADAC Formula 4 Championships.
