Call of Duty World League Hype - What you need to know.

Welcome to New Orleans, Louisiana, home to the longest continuous bridge in the world. Now it can add eSports to its list of achievements as the biggest Call of Duty: World League series ever continues this weekend at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, America’s largest contiguous-space exhibit hall. We’re running out of superlatives… With a new title to play and a mouth-watering $200,000 prize pool up for grabs, 16 of the best teams in the world will compete not only for the mammoth cash prize, but also 25,000 Pro Points - which the teams need in order to be invited to Invitational and Open events; as well as the CWL Pro League.

Call of Duty: World War II

At the end of the year we saw the release of the latest title in the Call of Duty franchise; this time set in an intense, action packed World War II setting. The CWL updates the game played in the eSports championship as each new CoD title is released, as this year we delve into one of the darkest periods in all of human history.

Epsilon eSports: Meet the Team

DVQEE (David Davies) - A centre piece of the EpsiCoD line-up, Dvqee spends most of his time at the top of the leader board. INSANTISED (Nathan Orton) - The latest addition to Epsilon’s top class CoD line up, Insanitised will look to make a name for himself alongside some of the best players in Europe. VORTEX (Stephen Allen) - After forging his reputation across various European events on CoD: Advanced Warfare, Vortex is an Epsilon regular - for good reason. HAWQEH (Billy Harris) - After making a name for himself beating some of the top European teams online, Hawqeh has what is takes to win on the international stage.

After missing out on a top spot at CWL Dallas in December, Epsilon eSports look to hit the ground running in 2018 as the first event of the Call of Duty: World League (CWL) gets under way. After securing third in Anaheim last year, as well as T4 (top four) finishes throughout the year, the European veterans look to go above and beyond the Call of Duty and establish themselves at the pinnacle of competitive Call of Duty gaming.

Introducing Insanitised

After a successful 2017, Epsilon eSports had a change of line-up for their Call of Duty squad with the arrival of Insantised (Nathan Orton) and the departure of Joshh to Red Reserve EU. We can’t wait to see what Nathan can bring to the line up as they look to start 2018 on top and on form.

Fun facts about New Orleans

• As well as the longest contiguous bridge in the world, New Orleans also boasts the largest enclosed arena in the world; the New Orleans Mercedes-Benz Superdome seating over 73,000.

• The streets of New Orleans have forged many famous stars, including Lil Wayne, Louis Armstrong, Reece Witherspoon and Ellen DeGeneres.

• Because New Orleans sits on a floodplain and parts of the city are below sea level, basements are often build above ground with second floor entrances to the house.

• Alligator and turtle are a popular choice for lunch. Look out for alligator hamburgers or turtle soup around the city.

• Voodoo culture was introduced into America in New Orleans, with the infamous Marie Laveau gaining notoriety by performing exorcisms and voodoo rituals.
